Petite Sirah has always been a varietal we've wanted to bring to Tucannon. Rarely grown in Washington, our family's Painted Hills Vineyard gave us the opportunity to craft a wine that captures the bold character of the grape while showcasing the vibrant fruit that makes Washington wines so special.
Nose Bright cherry, black currant, ripe plum, and a hint of fresh cranberry rise from the glass, layered with warm baking spice, cracked black pepper, and subtle cocoa.
Palate Full-bodied with a rich, velvety texture, this Petite Sirah fills the palate with layers of dark cherry, currant, plum, and bright cranberry that keep the wine fresh from start to finish. Firm, polished tannins provide structure without overpowering the fruit, while notes of warm spice and black pepper add complexity. Dense and deeply flavored, it lingers with remarkable length and is built to reward time in the cellar.
Pairings This is a wine made for the table. Its bold structure and vibrant fruit make it a natural partner for grilled ribeye, smoked ribs, brisket, lamb, braised beef, gourmet burgers, rich mushroom dishes, aged Gouda, smoked cheddar, and dark chocolate.
