2011 Reserve Pinot Noir

2011 Oregon Pinot Noir

We hand picked these grapes in October of 2011, in Irrigon Oregon. We left the skins on for 3 weeks, and oaked it for a full 42 months. The additional maceration time and oaking made for a very bold Pinot Noir.

Tasting notes

Wonderful bouquet on the nose of vanilla bean, oak and lots of fruit! Tart cranberry and bing cherries on the palate with hints of vanilla to carry through the everlasting finish. Bold for a pinot with great acidic balance and subtle tannins.

Production notes

We produced this Pinot Noir almost how you would craft a cabernet! Phil calls it his own "Washington Infused Pinot" as he crafted it to appeal to those of us who prefer bold wines. He left it on the leas for a full three weeks, instead of a mere three days. He also decided to oak it for an entire 42 months, giving the Pinot a wonderfully robust toasted cedar and oaky element.
